Hon. Adedeji Adebare Leaves PDP, Hints at New Political Direction

Hon. Adedeji Ramon Adebare, Councillor representing Ward 02, Onigbio/Oke-Oba in Idere, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adebare disclosed his resignation in a statement on Thursday, attributing his decision to persistent internal wrangling and unresolved legal challenges affecting the party’s structure.

He said the situation within the PDP had continued to create tension and uncertainty among members, making it increasingly difficult to sustain unity and effective political engagement.

The councillor explained that his exit followed extensive consultations with close political associates and supporters, adding that the decision was taken in the overall interest of his political ward and future political direction.

He noted that while his time in the PDP had come to an end, he remained grateful to the party for the opportunity that led to his election into office, describing the platform as a key part of his political development.

Adebare appreciated his supporters, community stakeholders and political allies for their consistent encouragement, stating that consultations were ongoing and that his next political step would be communicated without delay.

He, however, appealed for calm among his supporters, stressing that the current wave of defections within the party should be viewed as part of broader political adjustments aimed at strengthening governance and representation in the region.

The councillor reaffirmed his commitment to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and expressed continued respect for his political leader, Hon. Adebayo Adepoju, noting that his focus remains on the progress and development of Ibarapa Central.
