Former Caretaker Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye, popularly known as Bibire, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
His name appeared on the list of candidates who emerged from the party primaries conducted on Saturday, bringing to rest days of political tension and uncertainty surrounding the APC ticket in the constituency.
Peoples Conscience had, on multiple occasions, reported that Bibire remained the preferred candidate of the party despite speculations and intense political permutations within the constituency. The latest development has now further validated the series of reports by the media outfit, known for what many political observers have described as accurate political revelations and insider updates.
Although details surrounding the primary election process are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, party sources disclosed that the inclusion of Sarafa Olaoniye’s name on the list of successful candidates signalled the official position of the party regarding the federal constituency ticket.
Olaoniye previously served as Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government and later as Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government Council. He also contested as the Accord Party candidate for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North State Constituency during the 2015 general election.
Details later.
