APC Holds Renewed Hope Unity Rally in Ibarapa



The All Progressives Congress (APC) has held its Renewed Hope Unity Rally in the Ibarapa region of Oyo State.

The rally, which took place at the Igboora Town Hall, Igboora, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, attracted party leaders, political office holders, party faithful, and aspirants from the three local government areas that make up the Ibarapa geopolitical zone.

A party faithful from Ibarapa North Local Government Area, who spoke with Peoples Conscience correspondent on Thursday, disclosed that the rally was convened at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of efforts to promote unity and cohesion among party members across the fourteen federal constituencies in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the source, the unity rally was coordinated by a committee led by the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the APC governorship flag bearer in the 2019 elections. He added that the rally is expected to be held across all fourteen federal constituencies of the Pacesetter State.

Prominent figures at the rally included Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections; Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Senator Sarafadeen Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District; Senator Fatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District; Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District; and Engr. Remi Oseni, member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, among others.

A source at the event maintained that the rally was in line with President Tinubu’s directive to strengthen internal unity and reposition the party for future electoral contests in the state.
