The All Progressives Congress has unveiled its 32 candidates for the Oyo State House of Assembly ahead of the forthcoming general election, with the party completing the nomination process across all state constituencies. The list features candidates from the seven geopolitical zones of the state, including Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oyo, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa, Peoples Conscience reports.
According to the list, Oyewole Abiola O. will contest the Afijio State Constituency seat, while Ajao Olugbega and Owoade Tunde Jelili emerged as candidates for Akinyele I and Akinyele II respectively. Other candidates include Ijadunola Olushina (Atiba), Olumide Yemi Bernard (Egbeda), Adeyemi Olaide (Ibadan North East I), Aderibigbe Abiodun (Ibadan North East II), Razak Adekunle G. (Ibadan North I), Adepoju Steve A. (Ibadan North II), and Jimoh Tesleem B. (Ibadan North West).
For the remaining Ibadan constituencies, the party picked Hamzat Wasiu O. for Ibadan South East I, Adegoke Wariths for Ibadan South East II, Tolani Mary Adigun for Ibadan South West I and Faniyi Olayinka O. for Ibadan South West II. In Ibarapa, Ogunlade Babatunde S. will fly the party’s flag in Ibarapa East, while Tajudeen Amoo secured the ticket for Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central. Adeleke Taiwo Azeez also emerged as the APC candidate for Ido State Constituency.
The party also nominated Salami Waliu for Irepo/Olorunsogo, Akande Babatunde O. for Iseyin/Itesiwaju, Salami Ademola Rasheed for Iwajowa, Azeez Musbau Akintola for Kajola, Giwa Hassan Olawale for Lagelu, Shittu Abdulfatai for Ogbomoso North, Adegoke Ayodeji for Ogbomoso South, Lawal Akeem for Oluyole, Funmilola Obisesan for Ona-Ara, Jimoh Luqman I. for Orelope, and Bamigboye Jacob A. for Oriire.
Others on the list include Ajeigbe Abiodun A. for Oyo East/Oyo West, Shittu Ibrahim for Saki West, Alliu Tajudeen Adetunji for Saki/Atisbo, and Jesutoye Olayinka I. for Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa. With the release of the candidates’ list, the APC has formally concluded its House of Assembly nominations and is expected to begin full-scale campaigns across the state ahead of the general election.
