In a development that signals a new chapter for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, former Deputy Governor, Moses Adeyemo, has emerged as the new state chairman of the party.
His emergence was officially announced at the party’s state congress held at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, following wide consultations among party leaders across the 33 local government areas of the state. According to the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the decision reflects a collective resolve aimed at strengthening unity and repositioning the party for greater service to the people.
Moses Adeyemo, a native of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area, previously served as Deputy Governor under the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi from 2011 to 2019. His experience in governance now places on him a renewed responsibility, not just to the party faithful, but to the broader aspirations of the people of Oyo State.
Providing clarification, former National Youth Leader and Secretary of the party’s Ad Hoc National Zoning Committee, Hon. Azeez Repete, described the congress as peaceful and orderly. He noted that Adeyemo emerged by consensus under the supervision of the congress committee constituted by the party’s national leadership in Abuja.
Repete also disclosed that an ad hoc zoning committee was set up to ensure fairness in the allocation of positions within the State Executive Committee across all local government chapters.
